Terms

[temporary placeholder:] These are temporary terms while a full version is prepared. They explain the basics in plain English and will be replaced.

Last updated: 11 October 2026

1. Who we are and who can use Kego

Kego ("we", "us") is a skill-exchange app for technical outdoor sports, operated by Luke Leffler in Australia. By using Kego you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

You must be 18 or older to use Kego. When you join you confirm that you are. If we have reason to believe someone is under 18, we may remove their account.

2. How Kego works

Kego only introduces people. Members list what they can teach and what they want to learn, and the app helps them find and message each other.

We do not organise, run, supervise or guarantee any lesson, trip or activity. We are not a guide, instructor, school or training provider, and we are not a party to anything members arrange with each other.

3. Risk disclaimer

Climbing, canyoning, skiing, diving and the other sports on Kego are dangerous. They can cause serious injury or death, to you and to others.

Kego does not check, verify or vouch for anyone's skills, qualifications, certifications, experience, judgment or identity. What members write on their profiles is self-reported and may be wrong or out of date. Endorsements are the opinion of the member who gave them.

You are responsible for who you meet and what you do. Ask questions, check what you need to check, and decide for yourself whether to go. Do not do anything you are not comfortable with or trained for.

In an emergency, call your local emergency number (000 in Australia). Kego is not an emergency service and cannot send help.

4. Your content and photo licence

Your content means your profile, photos, bio, skills, messages and anything else you add to Kego. You own it.

You give Kego a licence to store your content and to show it to signed-in members of Kego, in the ways the app is designed to, for as long as your account is open. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for messages already sent to other members (see the Privacy Policy).

You confirm that you have the right to use everything you add, including that you took the photo or have permission to use it, and that anyone who is recognisable in a photo is happy for it to be on Kego.

5. Conduct and photo rules

6. Reporting and removal

You can block or report any member from their profile. You can also email us at the address below.

We may remove content, suspend or close accounts, or refuse to let someone back in, if we think these Terms have been broken or someone's safety is at risk. We will not always be able to explain why.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings, then Delete account (kegoapp.com/settings/delete-account). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you cannot sign in, email us at the address below.

What is and is not deleted is described in the Privacy Policy and on the deletion page itself.

8. Limits on liability and governing law

[TO CONFIRM, pending solicitor review] To the extent the law allows, Kego and its operator are not responsible for injury, loss or damage that results from activities members arrange with each other, or from anything members say or do. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under law that cannot be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia [TO CONFIRM with solicitor].

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed.
